WEBJan 11, 2011 · I marked the wires and placed them right back on the fuel gauge - pink on S, red on I. The ground runs to the temp gauge. All I get now is a full reading. My questions are these: 1. Does the speedometer have to be attached to the dash for the thing to be properly grounded? 2. Would it solve the problem if I just traced the pink wire to it's source?

WEBMar 4, 2010 · I was lucky enough to find a set of NOS fuel and temp gauges and they arrived today (in their original Jeep/AMC blue boxes!!!). When I eventually install these should I get a new jumper wire to go between the two gauges or can I reuse the old one off of the old gauges?

WEBJun 12, 2016 · I have the instrument cluster out and I disconnected the circular harness for the instrument cluster. With the cluster disconnected and the ignition on I looked at the violet (temp guage) and yellow (fuel gauge) wires. Neither wire showed any voltage.
