WEBDec 6, 2004 · I would begin by removing the sliding tray plus attachments and then remove the top cover and place in the sink to soak. Then I would take a knife, turn on the machine, and use the knife to scrape the dry blood and meat from the band and pulley wheels. The meat etc. will flake away a lot faster when dry.

WEBAug 6, 2009 · I've had good luck with a bow saw (same as used for trimming trees) to cut frozen meat. Used it to cut venison hams in half, for example. Just thoroughly clean the blade before/after use. A little mineral oil (food grade) will keep the blade from rusting between use. Lee

WEBSep 16, 2005 · I have a meat band saw with table, a reciprocating saw , and a hand meat saw; I use which ever fits the need at the time. I've split plenty of backbones with a hand meat saw, but now I always use a reciprocating saw. We are raising pigs again this year for the first time in a while, and we will use the reciprocating saw to split the backbones.

WEBJan 11, 2013 · A bandsaw is still a good thing to have processing home grown meat. It will cut through bone easy enough. If you are happy with the old school bone saw, they are fine for small scale butchering. I usually cut the leg off with the bone saw and cut the steaks out of it with the bandsaw, so I wouldn't simply retire the bone saw if you get a band saw.

WEBAug 14, 2007 · Processors don't want them because of their size, and most people who buy rabbit in a restaurant aren't looking for a 12 pound rabbit to come to their table! LOL. They want about a 4 to 5 pound rabbit, live weight, at the most, and NZs get there quicker on the same amount of feed. Calis don't do bad either, but overall, NZs are best for meat.

Three people works great. One does the cutting and sawing, one balances and takes the first front quarter after it's removed while the third keeps balancing things till person #2 ...

WEBApr 18, 2012 · Except at several $100 each you could just sell those and buy enough other meat for a year. I saw a patagonia cavy on hoobly for $350. If I had the money I'd raise some. They are interesting. They may take another month to produce offspring but their offspring come out equal to a 4 or 5 month old rabbit so you don't really lose anything there.

WEBJun 4, 2012 · Perfectly acceptable in Boer goats. Not just for commercial herds, but in the Show Ring as well. You do want to cull for fish teats or "cluster" teats - some Boers can have 3 or 4 teats on ONE side (yikes!) or teats that are all grouped very closely together, which of course makes it difficult for kids to nurse, especially young kids.

The piece of meat that bacon comes from is more properly called "side meat", which is a small piece of the big slab that comes off that also contains the "belly meat". The belly is an inferior cut of meat for making bacon compared to the side meat.

My son saw an ad on Craig's List for a GENTLE 3 year old Corriente Bull (Since I am the one who takes care of them, a gentle bull is a must) So my son buys him. Has him delivered.
