WEBJun 22, 2023 · You do not have to electrically disconnect the AMS unit in order to print from an external spool. The first step is to disconnect the white PTFE tube from the AMS going to the back of the printer. Then push the filament from the spool down until it stops.

WEBJun 7, 2023 · Apparently my printer believes that there is an external spool connected to the printer. I currently do not have anything other than the AMS. I have not taken apart the tool head but looking down from the top nothing is stuck in the extruder.

WEBFeb 7, 2024 · New X1 owner here. I have the AMS with my printer, as well as a few very large spools that cannot fit in the AMS. As of now, if I need to switch from a AMS spool to the outside spool, I need to unload the filament, unclip the PTFE tube going in to the printer, and reconnect everything.
