Both are pretty close and easily be covered in a single day. But from my point of view, Karnak is way more impressive. Not only bcoz it's sheer size, but also because of the generation of art and culture depicted in its walls. Egypt trip is incomplete without visiting Karnak. On the other hand, Luxor Temple is smaller than Karnak. But it's definitely large enough to mesmerize. Better visit it after dawn. The light show at Luxor Temple is overwhelming. Because of its easy accessibility, it can better be visited at evening.
