The falls were gorgeous! The website states this is a low to moderate hike, but it's a solid moderate and may be even a bit strenuous at times. We took one trail up and the other trail back. Thereā€¦ Full review by scross9475

Sooo beautiful! It's like a fairyland hike with waterfalls everywhere you turn! Be careful walking on the stones as they get slippery. Full review by scottish2012

The hike wasn't easy for me, but I am a bit out of shape. The falls provide a nice reward once you arrive. The descent is easy as it is more on a downhill slope. Full review by Debra R

Questions & answers

Q:
Is swimming allowed near the falls?
A:
I think there are signs that say 'no swimming', though people have asked if I went into the water. I have not, but heard that people do, but not sure how safe it is.

My first time hiking. I plan on coming by myself. Is there anything I should bring other than water, and snacks? Are there bathrooms along the way? Would slip grip New Balance shoes be ok?

Hard sole shoes would be best, but if your feet can handle 5miles in New Balance, thats up to you. Some parts of the trail are rocky, and some parts may be washed out so you might have to climb a little. There is only 1 bathroom, and thats at the parking lot, but none on the trail. My only advice is stay on the trail to the left (don't cross the bridge), unless you don't mind doing a lot of stairs! The trail to the left is a nice gradual incline. There are benches you can rest on. Lots of water and snacks (definatley pack a sandwich to enjoy by the waterfall). Once you get to the fork at the top of the trail, .5mi to the waterfall, make a choice... Go right if you want to walk along the river and climb a little (the trail was washed out in April) before reaching the base of the fall. Or go left to hile the incline, then hile down towards the falls. I highly recommend taking the trail to the right. It's easier to hike upwards, then looping back down. If you have bad knees, recommend a walking stick to help on your hike back down thw trail. My 2yr walked the whole thing, and it took us about 5hrs. So 1) come prepared with the right amount of supplies, more water than you think you'll need, and 2) always be safe and dont push your limit. Hope you have a great time.
Q:
How long was the total hike - round trip? Thanks
A:
It's about 2 miles but it's winding, uphill and slow going for us due to uneven ground. Of course we stopped to take lots of pictures.

My son is 4.5 years old. Is the trail groomed enough that I could push him in a stroller (small umbrella style) in the event he gets tired?
A:
The beginning of the "upper" trail might work but not all the way to the falls. We came across someone pushing a stroller with much difficulty. I would NOT suggest it.
