We were there two weeks ago and there was very little Fall color. It's a beautiful setting, and I'm sure there is more color now. Parking is a nightmare. The only place in the Lower Town is at the train station which was full when we arrived. The easiest solution is to follow the signs to the Visitor Center which has abundant parking and very convenient shuttles that run frequently to the Old Town. Hope this helps!
