Are there any facilities nearby? eg toliets, baby changing facilities?

Yes, there is a washroom, with change room at the facility. It is also in a little tourist where restaurants and public washrooms are within easy walking distance.
I’m planning a trip in late September/October this year, is it too cold to kayak then? Can we just walk in in case weather isn’t great every day during our trip? Thanks!

depends, it is usually cold in late Sept but you can still get some odd warm days. I probably wouldn't kayak.
