Aside from staying dehydrated with at least 3-4L of water per day; walking very slowly; taking Diamox & Ibuprofen before, during and after the trek; is there anything else to help avoid it, please?

Trekking on the Himalaya you have to consider about previsions of altitude sickness. You must to drink hot water in the morning and evening to avoid hypothermia. You should drink 3L water every day during the trek (better to drink before 4 pm ). You should have changed your walking inner cloths avoid pneumonia. Walking slowly way up and rest on every 100m up. Every day overnight not gain 400m altitude. And every 1000m you must have to overnight 1 day more rest. Even more important thing to do a day hike height gain 200m elevation than your overnight lodge altitude. If you are able to do such thing you avoid taking any kinds of altitude medication.
