We spent most of a day at this national park during a visit to Ushuaia. Our goal was to see the park via hikes, and we enjoyed trails at Senda Costera and Bahia Lapataia. We didn't have a car, so we … Full review by SnowyShasta

Beautiful place with different kind of natural landscapes. We enjoyed it thoroughly with end of world train and then by our bus. Full review by skmishra1976
Hi. I wanted to ask about your trip to the Parque Nacional Tierra del Fuego. We plan to catch the train there. Is it possible to do do some of the walks from where the train ends? Thank-you! Annette

Hi Annette! I'm not sure, when I went I did some research to go on my own. But my guess is yes. But then to return, if not with the train, you would have to already have a ticket purchased in Ushuaia to use the same van that I used to return to the city (if you want, I can send you a photo I took there showing where the points are so you can wait for the van to pick you up). Or you would have to arrange in advance with a taxi driver in Ushuaia to pick you up at some point, because from what I researched, it is difficult to hail a taxi inside the park.
Hi we have a 0700-1400 cruise stop in Ushuaia. We are trying to the steam train ride And a ‘part’ of Sando Costera trail (7.5km) . 1.I’m wondering whether we can do the train one way to save time as it comes back on the same route ? 2. Is the last train station stops at the visitor centre so we can walk to Sando Costera trail ?

This was unexpectedly our favorite stop on our cruise! We took a tour with Tierra Tours, the owner is Matias. Picked us up from the port, drove out to the Lakes, short easy hike, great BBQ'd meal, canoeing and back to port on time. The most perfect day!
Hello there!! Il be visiting Parque Nacional Tierra del Fuego in January. Do I really need a SUV to drive around the park or a full size sedan car will be fine? Thanks in advance.

Can we take a bus from Ushuaia to the park entrance and then board the train to the end of then world? Or is it possible to take a taxi or hire a driver to take us?

Yes no problem. No need to book expensive excursions. Ask at the Tourist Information by the port. They will inform you of the minibus service that runs to the park Just turn up around the departure time and buy a return ticket and you have a choice of drop off and pick up locations and times. You could choose to disembark at the train if you wish. Lovely walks and amazing views......not to be missed. The Visitor Centre is good for lunch too. Don’t miss the El viejo Marino restaurant for the best King Crab, no booking just queue up about 18:45.
