Are there some areas of the Sloan Conservation area that are bit sandstone - red rock areas? I saw a photo of a giant red rock area with a hole... (like those photos you see of Arch rock etc. in Utah).. and I would be interested in hiking to one of those areas in Sloan - or is it mostly black volcanic stuff. Thanks

They are doing construction and although there is a back way in we cannot guarantee that that is going to be open when you go there. The way we came out wasn't open when we KMan that when we left we were able to find a back way that was all paved but coming in it was about 45 miles of gravel bumpy until you hit the main road going to the Canyon and it is beautifully paved with the beautiful parking lot.
