There are many carpet sources and to me unless you want a huge carpet worth 100s of thousand s it better to just get the pattern and colour design you like where you see it If you buy for a family heirloom your kids probably won’t be into it Patterns denote which area they were made from Pakistan to turkey. All intricate and amazing . You can get a small one metre by three metres or a banqueting room size. They traditionally were made for the walls and floor warmth and cool These countries are less travelled and amazing

See latest answer expensive well how big is your pocket a small carpet can be $2000us The outlet where you buy it can usually give the correct papers I saw that happen with others in my group who bought carpets Some carried the smaller with them and others had them shipped I did not buy so not exactly sure but have caught up with those people and they all had no problems either way Only thing get the paper work whilst paying to make sure you have it
