East Texas A&M was Texas A&M–Commerce until November 2024. It was built in 1950 when the school was known as East Texas State Teachers College. It is the home of the East Texas A&M Lions men's and women's basketball teams, as well as home to Lions volleyball. The Field House is also used as the location for the university's commencement exercises.
