The castle was originally built to subdue the unruly North of England and is one of the greatest Norman fortresses in Britain. The grounds and interior spaces at Richmond Castle are open.

Questions & answers

Q:
Can we park there
A:
There is a very large car park directly front and left of the building hope this helps
Q:
What is the best time to arrive and how long would I be expecting to stay here to see everything ? Thanks
A:
I think arrival any time before 2pm would give you plenty of time to visit the museum. I'd leave 1-2 hours.
Q:
Does the entry fee include the York dungeons?
A:
No the York Dungeons is a different attraction and therefore is paid for separately - both are worth visiting though my favourite is the York Castle Museum. Hope you enjoy either / both :-)
Q:
Do you accept dogs in the castle museum and tour?
A:
Sorry not sure
