I had seen videos of people wandering through deserted dirt alleyways and ancient mud buildings leisurely taking photos. This is why I was so excited about visiting this site. Unfortunately, realit… Full review by Y2596KGpatriciab

What was supposed to be a beautiful UNESCO site was spoilt by the local guide who hurried us through the site. We would like more time to explore the place but apparently, it appeared that every gro… Full review by Eve420

Once you climb up, you can view the collection of earthen houses representing Moroccan architecture. The Kasbah El Hajja (bridge over Ounila river) is also visible. The damage caused by the earthquak… Full review by marveldsilva
How easy it it to drive here from Marrakech in a rental car? If driving what other sites/ stops would you make on the way? Ideal itinerary? Would a bus tour be a better option?

Easy! If you are used to drive through the mountains like the Alpes for example, or something alike than this would be no issue. We did it this winter with our little family with our small Fiat 500. Not the most powerfull car, but we didn’t need more. Stop once a while to enjoy the view. In the mountains, there are enough bars for a drink or food.
For two active and adventurous seniors, is it best to stay here in town or stay in Ourrzazate? We will be arriving with our rental car (not a 4 wheel drive) Nov 3 for two nights. Thanks!

There aren't a lot of options for food, accommodation or activities in the town in my opinion, so since you have a car I'd recommend a day trip to visit the site. The climb to the top isn't very difficult/long for someone of average fitness, depending how much you want to explore you probably wouldn't need more than 2-3 hours max.
Hi, We are doing a road trip in October, and wanted to visit Ait Ben Haddou. How long would you expect a visit here to take? We have lots of places to see, so need to plan carefully. Could you do this in an hour and a half (up to the top and back down, with a bit of an explore of the streets)? Thanks very much, Vicki

We spent a few hours. There is a stop to take pics as you approach. We parked at the Main Street hotel. Walked across the bridge and to the top. Takes you thru the seats so you get a good idea of what is there. My suggestion is you to the top first and then if you have time on the way down you can look around. This is pending your mobility is good.
