I like my feet to be comfortable and in solid footwear. Is it worth wearing sturdy walking shoes/boots on the trails, or is this over the top? Are most of the walkways paved or natural?

Mostly I recommend the closed in shoe, just in case you encounter any slithery critters and to keep your feet less dusty... If doing the night tour, definately wear closed in decent shoes..
