Hi We are so excited about our trip down the Salmon next week. Is there anything that you guys didn't take that you wish you had? What footwear did you take? Anything you took that you didn't need? Just looking for advice on clothing and shoes!! Thanks in advance.

Layers are great. You may not need a raincoat...but it did rain on us for 2 hours and it was nice to have. We all wore water shoes. A definite must. I'd recommend a long sleeve swim …

I'd recommend a long sleeve swim shirt to protect your skin because you are in the sun all day! We just basically wore swim suits with wet suits all day. You guys won't need the wet suits, so swim shorts or shorts that dry fast would be a must! They sell waterproof cases for your phone at the office...also a must for getting photos but protecting your phone. Oh and a hat is a must too!

If you are looking for raft trips on the snake or Salmon rivers I believe the best time is June through August. However they have trips before and after that in the season. Call Lisa at Mountain River Outfitters in Riggins Idaho for all the details. Our cost for adult 3 day all inclusive trip was around $900. It was a great value. Have fun. It is a wonderful experience.
