A:
It is not necessary to pre-book tickets to the MS Civil Rights Museum or the Museum of MS History (they are at the same location and are connected). Tickets are available at the Museum entrance. There are usually more visitors on the weekends, but the Museum is self-guided and you are welcome to browse at your own pace. Museum hours are 9-5 CT Tuesdays through Saturdays, and 1-5 on Sundays. The Museums are closed on Mondays. Allow plenty of time for the Museum - there is a great deal of information to read and see and absorb, and many visitors spend several hours there. There is a café in the building with good food, and a Museum Store with lots of books and items. There is a free parking garage connected to the building and some on-street parking available. If you are bringing a large group (10 or more, especially with children), the Museum encourages you to complete a group form which can be found on the website for the Two Mississippi Museums. This helps them plan to receive your group and make sure the visit meets your needs.
