Alex de Minaur has been swept aside by Daniil Medvedev at the ATP Finals in Turin, almost certainly ending his chances of progressing in the season's finale.

During the past two years, Sinner is 2-0 against de Minaur in their head-to-head matchups. Their last one took place at the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament on February 18, 2024 and was won by Sinner 7-5, 6-4.
