Jets' Heinola out indefinitely after infection in surgically-repaired ankle
The infection’s origins can be traced back to last season’s training camp, when Heinola broke his ankle in the final pre-season game. That injury, which cost him more than half the season, required surgery, and a screw, to repair. Arniel revealed Friday the infection stems from the screw.
Not good news for Ville Heinola on Day 2 of Winnipeg Jets camp
It's like déjà vu for Winnipeg Jets defenceman Ville Heinola — and not in a good way at all. Jets head coach Scott Arniel delivered the bad news following the completion of Day 2 of training camp at Hockey For All Centre when he told reporters Heinola has an infection in the ankle he broke last fall and will be sidelined for at least a week.
