Browns honor the legendary Jim Donovan with a mic logo on their helmets
CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Browns are honoring the late Jim Donovan, legendary Voice of the Browns, with a microphone decal on their helmet for the rest of the season. Donovan, 68, died on Oct. 26 after a long battle with cancer. He was the beloved play-by-play voice of the Browns since the team returned in 1999.

Prior to Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Chargers, the Browns unveiled a special decal that will be worn on players' helmets for the remainder of the season. The sticker features a brown microphone with the initials "JD" emblazoned on it in orange, the same logo the club has shared as its social media avatar since Donovan's death on Oct. 26.
So prolific, he very nearly once became the logo on the helmet. Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski has worn Brownie the Elf gear almost every day since becoming Cleveland's head coach in 2020.
