The expected launch might still be some eight months off, but we're already hearing numerous leaks and rumors around the Apple iPhone 17 – and the latest tidbit from those in the know suggests the cameras on the Pro and Pro Max models may get both downgrades and upgrades.

The iPhone 16 Pro Max saw a couple of major improvements to its camera setup, gaining a new 48MP Fusion camera as well as a 48MP ultrawide lens. The Fusion camera worked faster than its predecessor, resulting in faster focus and no shutter lag. The ultrawide camera introduced higher resolution than the 12MP sensor Apple previously used.

Both iPhone 17 Pro models will reportedly ditch the 12MP front and telephoto cameras in favor of 24 and 48MP ones.
