The former Bank of England and Bank of Canada governor says he is considering running for leader of Canada’s Liberal Party and prime minister.

Mark Carney is ready to launch his campaign to replace Justin Trudeau as Liberal leader and prime minister of Canada. Carney, a banker comfortable with the Davos set, showed up on “The Daily Show ” Monday night, casting himself as an “outsider.”

During an appearance on The Daily Show, Mark Carney called himself an ‘outsider’, and said Canada needs change to address economic challenges and rising costs.

Mark Carney went on late-night television in the U.S. Monday to talk Trump, tariffs and carbon tax, but played coy on any plans to seek the Liberal leadership.
