Alcohol consumption is a leading preventable cause of cancer in the U.S. The U.S. surgeon general issued an advisory on Friday warning of a link between alcohol consumption and cancer risk.
The new surgeon general’s report is more in tune with modern evidence, Lee said. “Even light drinking … really, there’s no benefit, and in fact, there may be harm,” he said.
