Magic: The Gathering's recent ban of cards likes Dockside and Jeweled Lotus in Commander have caused to cards to plummet in value

Prices for multiple printings of the Magic the Gathering card Mana Vault have surged 200% overnight, from already sky-high starting points.

These bans are mostly down to each card's ability to create explosive starts for plays, while Nadu, Winged Wisdom has been banned for its ability to make games boring for very little gain.

Magic the Gathering’s most popular format Commander was hit by some shocking bans by the rules committee yesterday – and it’s having a real-world effect on collections as some of the most sought-after cards have lost enormous value overnight.

Bird is NOT the word, as Nadu and other powerful cards hit the Commander ban list in the latest update. And fans are not happy.

Wizards of the Coast surprisingly banned cards like Mana Crypt and a few other staple cards from MTG’s Commander format. For a hefty amount of time, Mana Crypt was considered to be one of the must-have cards in a cEDH (competitive Elder Dragon Highlander) deck.
