A day after the Maine House of Representatives approved an ethics probe into the domestic violence allegations against Sanford Rep. Lucas Lanigan, a dozen survivors of domestic violence gathered in the Republican’s hometown to protest his reelection.

People at a march in Sanford Thursday were demanding accountability for public officials and broader reforms to address domestic violence in Maine.

Protestors carried signs, some of which featured the mug shot taken of Lanigan at the time of his arrest at York County Jail on Oct. 28.
