A slew of new national and swing-state polls have come out in the past 24 hours — particularly from battleground Pennsylvania — and they tell three consistent storylines after last week’s presidential debate.

The finding is a warning sign for Trump, who has tried to link Harris to President Joe Biden’s economic track record.

The new Quinnipiac University poll shows Harris leading Trump in the swing states of Pennsylvania and Michigan, which are both seen as critical states for the two frontrunners. The poll comes as both campaigns court voters in swing states less than 50 days out for November’s election.

Given the recent polls and the collapse of the lead he once held over President Joe Biden, any path Donald Trump has to the White House must go through Pennsylvania — generally acknowledged as the most important swing state. Pennsylvania’s 19 electoral votes are the most among the seven top swing states.

Postmaster General Louis DeJoy pledged Thursday that the US Postal Service will undertake “heroic efforts” to deliver all mail-in ballots on time this year and urged people to put their ballots in the mail at least one week before Election Day on November 5.

With a debate and a second assassination attempt in the rearview mirror, the Harris-Trump contest is by any measure too close to call.
