Molson Coors announced it will be closing its brewery in Chippewa, Wisconsin which produces Leinenkugel’s Summer Shandy brew. The closure will result in the loss of roughly 56 jobs.

Leinenkugel’s Brewing Company will be shutting down most of its historic western Wisconsin operations in Chippewa Falls next year. Molson Coors, the parent company of Leinenkugel’s, made the announcement Wednesday afternoon.

Miller Valley brewery will take on work from 10th Street brewery and 157-year-old Chippewa Falls facility by mid-January.

Also closing is Leinenkugel's satellite facility north of downtown Milwaukee. Production from both sites moves to Molson Coors' State St. brewery.
