Howard Frankland Bridge reopens in both directions after Hurricane Helene
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The southbound lanes of the Howard Frankland Bridge reopened on Friday after Hurricane Helene made its way up the coastline. The northbound lanes remain closed. The Bay Area began feeling the impacts of the storm with some bands of wind and rain coming onshore on Thursday morning. By 3 p.m., more damaging winds were onshore.

All lanes of the Gandy Bridge reopened Friday after Hurricane Helene lashed the region. Around 3 p.m., the inside eastbound lane reopened, reviving two routes from St. Petersburg to Tampa. The Sunshine Skyway Bridge fully reopened around 1 p.m. Friday. The Courtney Campbell Causeway reopened at 11 p.m. Friday.
