Oct 10, 2024 — That's probably why the El Camino aging process generally ends with a camper top being more or less permanently installed. I'm no El Camexpert but if the floor is shaped like that, I assume that any rust there will pass right on through into the interior. Er, cab. It usually rusts through quickly and becomes a drain for the bed.

Apr 11, 2020 — My 1977 Oldsmobile Delta 88 indy pace car. I've had this for over 17 years. Back in November 2002 my friend Georg found it on CL and sent the ad to me. "You gotta buy this!" he says. Was listed at $2000. Looked at it, test drove and offered them $1500. About a week later picked it up. Was bone stock.

Installing 3 point seat belts in old car - Grassroots Motorsports
Jun 2, 2011 — One other option would be a 4 point belt. They mount to the floor completely. The back of the belt has one bolt in the middle of where you sit. Belt comes up then splits into a "Y" going over each shoulder. SVreX SuperDork. 6/2/11 4:59 p.m. I have installed 4 and 5 point belts in older daily drivers.

Another thing to consider... 4L60E is a fine choice, 4L80E is better... but don't rule out the 6L90. 2010 and later 3/4 and 1-ton vans got the 6L90. 6/29/13 5:01 a.m. so im about to stuff a 700r4 in my 64 el camino next week. only thing im still unsure of is what to do with the tv cables. I have two carb options for my 350: a spread bore Holley 650 double pumper (currently on the truck) or an edelbrock 750 afb style carb (currently on my duster that's going efi this fall)
