Oct 2, 2012 · I run johndeere. For 10 grand you need to rent. I just spent half that on tracks. And to the above post. I got 400 hrs on my last set of tracks. All depends on how much asphalt you are on. But remember this on owning a skid steer. Every time you get worked on. Plan on spending a few hundred dollars. If you rent it and it breaks they fix it.

Mar 7, 2011 · I would say for a pure CTL, the Takkie(or sister versions) is the answer. I run a Case with the Loegering VTS and think that is the best, if I was still doing commercial snow I would take the VTS off and run tires. To me it doesn't make sense to put extra hours on a track machine as well as not having the same top speed as a regular two speed skid.

When I was looking for a skid steer, I went out there and within an hour drove Cat, Kubota, Bobcat, Tak, Case & John Deere. I decided what I liked best and then waited until the right one came around.

Mar 26, 2018 · We do a lot of small lots here on Vancouver island, most lots run from .07 to .25 acres within the city so full sized skid isn't really always practical. It seemed like the cleanup and damage the bobcat or mini ex would do, along with tight spots that still needed hand work anyway wasn't really worth it to get a machine in.
Anyone ever use or heard of Mustang brand skid steers?

Jul 18, 2008 · - Locally I know very well a skid steer operator who has been in the game for 35 years. He got his first tracked machine about the same time as his main competitor. He got nearly 2000 hours out of his machine before he had to do some undercarriage work and then it was not such a big or expensive deal.
