Sep 9, 2022 · You’re speaking entirely hypothetically. I just bought soda at Safeway, and while the regular price is $9 per case, it was also buy 2 get 3 free. So basically $18 for 60. Nowhere did I say I was paying $6 at a different store. I was equating the 17 and some change price at Costco for 35 to paying $6 for a 12 pack.

May 28, 2024 · Wife and I have been appalled at soda prices, but particularly how Coke happened to be $2 more than Pepsi products for quite some time where with Pepsi you’d get an additional can at $15.99. Looks like either Coke caved, or Costco negotiated better prices.

Nov 9, 2022 · If you check your grocery store circulars, you can still get pretty good deals on soda vs Costco prices. When they go on special, it's usually something like three 12-packs for $12.99 or so, which is actually 1 soda can more than the 35-pack at Costco, plus $5 cheaper.
Need soda and water for 250 person wedding. Is Costco the place?
Soda prices at Costco tend to be better than list prices at my Kroger, but never nearly as good as the sale prices. Usually around holidays (esp summer holidays) the soda prices go on massive loss leader sales. Not sure how many cases you are planning to buy, but that would be my plan.

Oct 26, 2022 · The last time I needed soda for a pot luck, it was cheaper to get the 36 pack for $15 from Costco. Never would I have thought that would happen. That's a good advertisement for Costco. Never did I think buying in bulk from a membership store would have been cheaper

Mar 8, 2024 · You have to print the membership card, mail the costco connection to execs, and take a 2% haircut on exec bonuses, but you also got $120/yr from these people instead of $60. Versus the rest of the costs (warehouse, admin, taxes, etc.), those would essentially remain the same if Costco didn't have a membership system.

Dec 28, 2022 · It seems that national chains like Walmart and Costco never seem to have great prices on soda. I wonder if those prices are negotiated nationally, so they don’t get the advantage of regional economic variations. Local grocers seem to have soda sales all the time that I never see at the national chains.

Nov 27, 2023 · One has generally low prices, while the other tends to have a different selection of some things I like. Recently I've noticed the less expensive store sells 12-pack cans of Pepsi for $4.88 and Coke for (I think) $6.99 for a 12-pack, while the other charges $8.99 for 12-packs of both Pepsi and Coke.
