Feb 12, 2022 · Hello all, What process do you use to create prints from your artwork? I know where I can get a good quality scan ($50) but the cost of a print is between $40-$50 (8×10 to 16×20). I see many artists producing prints in the $25-$30 range. I’d like to be able to sell prints in that price range if possible. Thanks everyone.

Aug 14, 2012 · Make sure the practice prints you make are using the same paper that you will use for your final prints. Different papers will cause colors to look different. And, quite frankly, you will find that if you get close you will be happy! You won’t in all likelihood get a print where all the colors look completely accurate.

Feb 21, 2003 · Yes and Yes! to your questions. Unless you specifically sell or give the copyrights away, you still own them. And to do that you’d want to put it into writing. When I sell a painting, I include a certificate of authenticity also. The last statement is “artist retains all copyrights to this original piece of art”.

Dec 3, 2003 · If you are not capable of making a high quality print, then they may want money. I think $25.00 to $50.00 is plenty. I sell my photos here to people who make postcards for $50.00 per photo plus photo credit on the card. Photographers in a bigger city may want more.

In my area, those prints really weren’t a great seller and I wasn’t using my printer to its best advantage. The archival ink was set up in 8 cartridges, and each of those cost $90 to replace. HUGELY expensive.

Information on both is available on line. 4-color is only economical for a high count printing run. Giclees are more economical, but most printers ask for a one-time, initial set-up fee.

Nov 23, 2018 · Prints might count as an ATC but never as an ACEO. Be sure if you’re selling them that the buyer is aware that it’s a print or they might get upset.
