Jun 18, 2024 · I recently received my new Xfinity Gateway device, but after hours of trying I cannot get it to connect to the Internet. I cannot therefore activate my connection. Very frustrating. The old Gateway device still works, so I know that the problem is not with the cabling.

Sep 22, 2023 · Open the Xfinity app and sign in with your Xfinity ID and password. Go to the WiFi tab. Tap your Home WiFi Network name. Select Edit WiFi settings. Select 2.4 and 5 GHz WiFi. Select Edit next to the WiFi band you want to update. Select the new WiFi Mode and/or Channel setting. Select Save to save your new settings.

You're Xfi Gateway can have a battery but a Battery Backup can be purchased for your Xfinity Voice modem to provide additional hours of service during a power outage. So if you have not purchased a back up battery then you just need to unplug the modem from the power to cycle it.

We set it up and activated it per their instructions and all our devices seem to work with it and the connections are much faster, EXCEPT this old Surface Pro 3 running Windows 10 Pro.
