Pancreas and spleen removal: how is life afterwards?
Oct 31, 2023 · I had tail of pancreas and spleen and gall bladder removed in May. 10 days in hospital went quite well actually, pain was never a serious problem. I was off all narcotic pain relief before leaving hospital. Tylenol was my only pain medication after that. The first week at home went well….walking daily and decent appetite.

Diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Tail Cancer: No Symptoms Yet. I’ve recently have been diagnosed with stage 4 ductal adenocarcinoma of the pancreas tail with secondary metastatic peritoneal carcinomatosis. I will began folfirinox chemo next week. I only have slight stomach aches, but nothing extremely bad. I run 3.5 miles 5 days a week.

May 7, 2023 · It turned out to be enteritis, but the CT scan showed that I had a dilated pancreas at 4.5 mm. The doctor felt that was the most important thing to get evaluated. I made an appointment with a new G.I. doctor, and brought old CT records. I noticed that the first time my pancreas showed dilation was Jan 2023 at 4mm and 4.5mm in April 2023.

Oct 24, 2023 · My recent 6 month CT scan showed a 7 mm pancreatic cyst that looks like a side branch IPMN in head of pancreas. I have recurrent breast cancer, BRCA2 mutation (raises risk of pancreatic cancer) and lung NETs (neuroendocrine cancer). NETs can present as a cyst. I will have a pancreatic MRI.

Sep 8, 2023 · UPDATE ON MAYO VISIT FROM 9-21-23. Husband met with dr at the gastro section at mayo for spot on tail of pancreas. Dr confirmed first opinion that it is a watch and see situation. Will be going back for an MRI in November. Apparently there are a number of people who have spots/cysts that turn into nothing.

Has anyone been able to have surgery for tumor in the tail?
Sep 1, 2024 · I had a 5.5 cm tumor on tail. Doctors at Sloan initially thought was precancerous. My surgeon removed 40% of pancreas tail, 23 lymph nodes, spleen and gallbladder in May 2024. Pathology showed 1.5 cm was cancerous along with 1 lymph node. It could be that the tumor had invaded blood vessels or arteries. I would seek a second opinion.
Found PNET on tail of pancreas but told it’s nonfunctional
Jul 5, 2023 · He has substernal upper stomach pain, diarrhea, severe nausea ,sweating ,blurred vision, confusion , indigestion, belching, flushing of skin but Hopkins found an Neuro endocrine tumor in the tail of his pancreas and they insists it’s a nonfunctional PNET and that it’s referred pancreatitis pain.
Has anyone been able to have surgery for tumor in the tail?
Jul 9, 2024 · Tumor in tail of pancreas, but had spread to bones, lungs, lymph nodes when they found it. Had been extremely healthy and strong until the back pain from bone mets took us down this road. Has had 12 treatments of folfirinox with 2 other chemo drugs.
