How to make a schwabisch hitch with continuous loops?
Aug 1, 2022 · I believe a schwabisch hitch requires a rope with two eyes, not a continuous loop. A klemheist is similar-ish and can be made with a continuous loop, but I haven't made one out of amsteel, although it should be a doable thing with a full bury continuous loop

Jan 7, 2021 · Here’s how I have my Schwabisch Hitch setup. I’ve never tried the Michoacán but will soon but I imagine that the same lengths would work great. I’ve found that with keeping the length of rope from the carabiner to where the actual knot goes around the tether on the shorter side causes the knot to grab quicker.

Jul 20, 2018 · Some rope materials and braids grip better with one than another, but they're both reliable. I actually use a valdotain tresse (VT or French prusik) for my climbing hitch, and a schwabisch on my flipline. The VT is arguably the best hitch for doubled rope technique (drt) if you're a heavy guy.

After looking at many knot books and many knot/rope disciplines, it seems [to me] that the most common use for the double fisherman's knot/hitch refers to the part of the rope configuration that makes "crossing round turns with a tuck".

Sep 10, 2018 · Yes, you can use another friction hitch on your tether. In fact, you can use a schwabisch, just like your LB. I use a tender on my tether, as well, allowing me to tighten it, if necessary, while holding my bow/rifle/range finder/grunt tube in one hand. I REALLY don't like a standard prusik because I'm heavy.

Tonight i tied the Knut, Cornell, Catalyst, Swabisch, Klemheist, Hedden, Michoacán, Arbsession, and a few others. I used 6mm Sterling TRC cord on Maxim Canyon Elite Rope, which is advertised as 9mm, but its actually almost 10.
