Your T-Mobile hotspot will become a junk when you leaving US and it's territory (ie. Puerto Rico). Most (if not all) hotspot things sold by T-Mobile lack of international LTE bands. However, most places have wi-fi and I will happily save the $$ every month. Also, T-Mobile has been investing heavily in its coverage issues ever since the AT&T merger was called off, so it keeps getting better.

I don't have any complaints about clarify or signal strength or consistency with T-Mobile. Verizon seems to have more of an advantage for data coverage--T-Mobile's 4g is still concentrated in urban/suburban areas.
