If you disable ASIO4ALL and select WDM driver, MS Wavetable Synth will work - with the real-time latency issue. An open browser window containing an obnoxious ad banner making stupid noises may be all it takes. Also, IM applications and soft phones have been reported to be very possessive when it comes to ownership of audio devices.

Sep 28, 2010 · I have MS GS Wavetable Synth enabled, but I don't know how to disable it on Windows 7 and with Ableton Live. I'm curious, does anyone know of some freeware replacement to Wavetable Synth? If so, could you help me get set up under it? If it helps, I'm running under Windows 7 with the latest Realtek HD audio drivers. They were set up already.

"In use by another application? MS GS Wavetable Synth enabled?" Strangely, when I set Kontakt 5 to use the ASIO4ALL driver, I don't get this message. So it seems to differ per application. The best solution I've found is to temporarily disable the audio device. However, I'd prefer to e.g. directly disable the MS GS Wavetable Synth.

I read in the ASIO4ALL Users Manual that the MS GS Wavetable Synth should not be used in settings in Music Programs (e.g. using MAGIX Music Studio Ver 12)- however, if I disable this Option I don't get any sound while trying to playback MIDI-files.

Mar 19, 2012 · I enabled the onboard soundchip first in the bios. I installed then the original setup disc for my onboard card, but for vista 64 bit. then the newest driver for soundblaster win7 64 bit.After that asio4all version 2.10. In cubase 5 I disabled the Microsoft GS wavetable synth.

Apr 30, 2010 · So i have used ASIO4ALL for a while and it randomly stops working. I checked the info on the actual Interface and there is an X marked by HD Audio Headphone/Speaker. So i obviouslly can't hear anything. If i open it even further, it says In use by another application and then "Microsoft Gs Wavetable synth?" Any suggestions? thanks.
