Iron Age and Anglo-Saxon settlement at Mildenhall Hub, Suffolk
Jul 21, 2022 · An area of 26ha was explored in 2016 with geophysics and 157 trial trenches, which identified prehistoric archaeology, as well as remains of buildings and a burial of the Early Anglo-Saxon period (c. AD 400–650).A full excavation followed, in 2018, of a 1.8ha area of terrace just above the floodplain of the River Lark.

Wangford quarry - a 6,000 year Suffolk story - Cotswold …
May 22, 2024 · Excavations over an eleven year period at Wangford quarry, near Southwold on the Suffolk coast, revealed archaeological remains from the Early Neolithic period to the present. Beaker flat graves, Middle Bronze Age cremation burials, Iron Age settlement and medieval activity were also identified across this south-facing gravel terrace, overlooking the River Wang.
