Apr 11, 2007 · Last year DD's 5th grade graduation was "Groovin' into the 6th grade" with all 60's decorations. All the kids got to tye dye a white tshirt, each class was a different color. They did this a week or so ahead of time so after the graduation, they put on their shirts for the party.

Apr 23, 2006 · For my daughter's 5th grade graduation that had a DJ in the gym playing music for the last 1 1/2 hours of the day and they also gave all the kids disposible cameras. They had a blast taking pictures of and posing with their friends. The parents all baked treats and had chips/snacks. The school provided the drinks.

We're in the same school from 1-8 (and some kids readieness through 8th) so 8th grade graduation is huge. I've never really heard of 6th grade graduations since most schools around here move to middle school after 5th grade.

Aug 3, 2004 · we just did an 8th grade graduation. Most of the girls were uber-fabulous. They all had trips to the hair salon and nice party dresses. Most of the boys were in suits. A few (enough that nobody really stood out) were in button down shirts, ties, and pants. I didn't mind the suit so much, he needed a new one anyway.

Jul 1, 2005 · I'd have to agree that a huge party for 8th grade graduation is extreme. Personally I also feel the same way about high school grad parties. Maybe it's just me, but I don't feel I deserve presents from my relatives just because I could pass algebra and english lit (and mind you I was a straight A student and top 5% of my class in '05).
