It hit power at 3000 and kept just pulling until 8000. Even if it’s peak wasn’t more than 276hp that tired old engine pulled like a train the whole time. Most 90s JDM cars were similar with the higher revving turbo engines and it provides a huge advantage compared to just peak HP.

It is partly because the US 25 year rule has passed on a lot of these and prices across the board on desirable Japanese cars have been pushing up and up. Add in that this is peak buying power vs. desirability for a lot of the people buying these cars. Local demand is high, export demand is high, supply is limited.

I'll never understand the hate for Honda's. Most people that have owned a Honda that wasn't completely trashed love them. They just seem nice compared to most other cars in the price range. Jun 12, 2015 · In all seriousness, Japan's Super GT series is probably up your alley. I'm not a huge drifting fan but you'll see a ton of 90s sports cars in that arena. To be honest there aren't a ton of "large" motorsports events that feature 20 year old cars these days. Maybe we'll see a resurgence of 90s cars in vintage events some day..

Cars at that age start to require major maintenance work (suspension, coolant hoses, valve adjustments, etc) and in general need much more rigorous maintenance than modern cars. Do yourself a favour and save the 6k, buy your sports car in a couple of years when you can actually afford it.
