Nafud desert - Wikipedia
Nafud desert is a large erg in north-central Saudi Arabia, with red sand, violent winds and occasional rain. It was the scene of a famous attack by Auda ibu Tayi during the Arab Revolt in 1917 and the site of an ancient human fossil discovery.
