Feb 15, 2013 · The commercial M1 carbines were and are a step down from the USGI carbines. Chiappa = cheap stuff. I have not used their M1 carbine, but it may be fun plinker. I doubt it is the kind of gun I would bet my life on. For a 9mm carbine, I would go with a Colt 6940. Too bad Ruger does not make the 10/22 in 9mm.

In this instance, our sacred M1 Rifle along with M1 Carbine went into the dust bin of history and irrelevant in modern warfare. The USMC trained him on the Beretta (he has one), and the 1911 drill was too much different in his opinion for him to retrain for a serious carry gun. So he was looking for a 9mm in DA/SA./

Feb 7, 2015 · I have one of these little ERMA M1 22lr carbines and I really like it . I have actually shot 1-1/4" groups sitting position at 100 yards with the issue peep sight and Remington cyclone ammo and have no problem hitting clay birds on the ground at 200 .The stock design is very close to the M1 Carbine but better having a larger pistol grip area .
