01 escape front end noise - Ford Forums
Dec 15, 2008 · my mother's 2001 fwd escape is killing me. there's a clunk noise in the front end when you hit bumps/potholes etc. I immediately thought strut mounts/bearings, and replaced them. any time ive ever heard this exact noise, it's been strut mounts and/or bearings. the bearings/mounts i removed (originals) were trashed and cracked, definitely bad.

Nov 28, 2019 · Ok, I’ve had my SUV to mechanic 3 times, I have a very bad and loud front end noise, seems like left side. brakes were bad so we did them, checked wheel bearings felt good, did left cv shaft and still loud. Mechanic thinks it’s a bad front tire, got 2 new front tires and nothing! He’s stumped and my car is bad to drive.

My 2006 Ford Escape just reached 60K and I decided to keep it noise and all. This is a great little SUV and perfect for my use but the road noise has been horrible. Yesterday I installed a new set of tires (Goodyear Fortera) and couldn't be more pleased...I'm able to listen to the radio at low volume and talk in a normal tone to passengers.

Aug 5, 2017 · There's a clunking/metallic rattle noise, that seems to come from the front suspensions (both sides). I can hear it at any speed, but a lot less on highway. I got new 2 control arms with new bushings, 2 new ball joints, 2 new sway bar links, 2 new tie rod ends .

Jun 27, 2018 · Ive noticed a clunk in the front end when it hit bumps at slower speeds. I've replaced the swaybar links and struts and I'm still hearing it. Any ideas? It's driving me insane and I want to fix it without nickel and diming it too much. When I hit bumps its a very subtle clunk and almost feels like theres a little slop in the front end.

Apr 23, 2014 · Now the lights are back on and the car is doing the same erratic braking as before. I don't want to pay to replace what they did before because I'm pretty sure this was a symptom but not the main issue behind the clunky front end noise. I have read about the TSB 09-22-18 and it definitely sounds like a possibility for what may be behind this.
Thumping sound in front end of 05 Escape - Ford Forums
Oct 25, 2006 · I have a 2005 Ford Escape. Lately it has started to make a thumping sound ( not a click or a squeak just a thump) in the front end. Especailly when taking off and turning to the left. Its a 4x4 and has right at 57000 miles. At first I thought it was a strut making noise but now I am not so sure. Any ideas?

Sep 17, 2022 · I have a 2011 ford escape XLT with the 6cyl engine. Truck has around 199,000 miles on it. I have just replaced the same parts on both sides, wheel bearings ( i actually bought new spindles), lower ball joints, tie rod ends, rotors, brake pads and stabilizer links.
