With a magnet link, you never download the torrent file from a server specified by the tracker site.

Feb 29, 2012 · However, when I clicked on the alternate "Get Torrent" link, that uses a Magnet Link, my browser opened it with Ares. So, being a faithful uTorrent fan, I never used this "Get Torrent" link, using instead the "Download this torrent", as I prefer to use uTorrent for my downloading my torrents, because uTorrent rulez, of course.

How to continue a stopped magnet link download?
Mar 1, 2012 · Once the torrent starts, it is no longer a magnet link, but you now have the .torrent file. So you are effectively removing the .torrent file, then rediscovering it again using the magnet link. I just stop them, and shutdown, or restart, then start the torrent, and it continues from where it left off, once seeds and peers connect.

Mar 6, 2012 · One way utorrent _COULD_ behave (I assume it would be a feature request) is to give you the option to NOT add the magnet link to the download list, but instead try to download the the torrent then continue via the file dialog box. Or alternately download the magnet link, once the torrent is downloaded re-pop up the file selection list.

Mar 5, 2012 · With uTorrent so far I have only been able to do one magnet link at a time. As a workaround, I have been just starting the torrents at work, waiting for the torrent files to download, stopping them, and then repeating the process as above. Please tell me there's an easier way to do this with uTorrent as I really don't want to switch to bitcomet.
