Here’s a great exercise to work through scales looking to connect them via their closest available root note. We’ll be working through the Circle of 4ths using the CAGED Scale Shapes. We’ll be going through: Key of C (G Shape Scale) – Pinky on 8th Fret | 6th String Key of F (C Shape Scale) – Pinky on 8th Fret | 5th String

So here’s a video lesson about going through our “C” major scale shape using the interval of the 4th. How we find the 4th Interval is by going up 4 scale degrees. So in this example D is our root note the 4th would be an G. We then go to an E and a 4th up from that would be A. etc.
