Dec 25, 2011 · Yes, all Metro Transit Police can wear external equipment bearing vests. DC Metropolitan Police can wear a kinda-uniform-looking external vest with a "skin irritation" medical waiver or a tac vest/equipment bearing vest if assigned to a special mission unit.

They ordered everyone to attend everything in a suit except the Physica Ability Test. They frowned on people who came to the orientation and written exam with casual attire.

Dec 14, 2014 · one thing I can tell you about Metro transit is that they also have their own Academy as well. That Academy gets you certified in DC and Maryland as a police officer. Some of the guys that I went to the Academy with in Ashburn, had already gone through Metros academy and obviously were a great asset when it came down to studying.

In this post 9/11 era concerned with domestic terrorism, I would think a progressive state like MN would see a benefit in allowing RR police agencies to enjoy full police powers outside of RR property just like Metro Transit Police.
