So Sony would need to go on their way to redesign the PS4 chip for the 7nm process, which is the most used process at TSMC right now. Not only that, it's also quite more expensive to manufacture on 7nm than 16nm.

Aug 18, 2018 · 4k Super Sampling for better picture quality on 1080p TV's. Higher Resolutions on some games that don't have a 4k Mode, for example Tekken 7 is 900p on Slim vs 1080p on Pro. Better Performance for Pro Patched games and Boost Mode for non Pro Patched games. The Slim is still fine if you aren't fussed about that stuff and want to save money though.
