May 5, 2016 · The M5400 has high cap. outlets, it's either 2 or 4, I can't look at the back of mine at the moment. I do you use one of the outlets for one of my amps (other amp is direct into the wall). These things are definitely over-priced if you ask me. I got LUCKY and got the M5400 when Crutchfield was having a sale - $479.00.
Trying to understand my Panamax Surge/Power Conditioner

Jan 20, 2016 · Anyway, just got a Panamax M5400PM unit from Crutchfield, bought it in December when prices were on sale but out of stock, so just received. Unit is fine, EXCEPT for this annoying buzzing noise. I thought something was wrong, so called Panamax technical support, and was told this is normal on the M5400 due to the voltage regulation transformer.

IMO, Furman has a better reputation. I recently switched from a Panamax (5300) to a toroidal isolation unit (check out Torus Power, Bryston, etc) when I upgraded my entire system.

Price aside, does anyone have insight into which unit is better for overall filtering and line protection.
