01 Arrows are used for lane assignment and to indicate the direction toward designated routes or destinations. Figure 2D-2 shows the various standard arrow designs that have been approved for use on guide signs.
United States at this time, it is recommended that double-lane roundabouts be designed to avoid the use of lane-use control signs wherever possible, at least until drivers become more accustomed to driving roundabouts. Lane-use control signs are generally not recommended.

ROUNDABOUT SIGNS
Yield signs are probably the most important signs at roundabouts in North America, since they reinforce to entering drivers who may be unfamiliar with roundabouts that they must yield to circulating traffic.
