Second Survey Data - Traveller Map
It is composed of a series of fields describing various aspects of the Main World (MW) in each system including physical and cultural characteristics, and some details about other bodies in the system of interest to travellers.
Sector Data File Formats - Traveller Map
Traveller sector data typically only includes the UWP listings for worlds. Additional data that may be presented in maps, such as subsector names, borders, routes and so forth is not covered. See Sector Metadata File Format for more details.
Using Custom Data - The Traveller Map
Using Custom Data. While the Traveller Map displays the sectors of the Official Traveller Universe (OTU), it also provides tools for referees who have created custom sectors. It is not possible to display custom data on the main map itself.

Sector Metadata File Format - The Traveller Map
Details such as borders and routes provide extra flavor to the visual presentation of sectors, and important details such as subsector names also need to be captured. Together, this extra detail is described by J. Greely as sector metadata.
